Okay I think i have hyperhidrosis which means excessive sweating from my armpits. I hate it! It seriously is horrible to have this problem so i went to my doctor and he prescribed Hypercare Drysol. But when i put it on, it burns so bad that sometimes it’s unbearable or other times it itches just as bad. I get rashes on my pits from using it too. Does this pain go away after time? Also, i’ve been on it for about a week and a half and i am still not noticing any improvement. Does it take more time to start working? And when i put it on, it looks like nothing is even coming out of the bottle. Is that normal? Do you know anything else that may work to stop excessive sweating? So many questions…please help!

When I first started using Drysol, it took several weeks to see an improvement to the point where I almost gave up. I was just as irritated (skin wise) as you are expressing. It is not easy, but hang in there. IMHO the itching/burning just means its working. Ten years ago, my armpits burned like the depths of hell when I used it. Nowadays when I use it under my arms I don’t notice anything - but it works! I recently started using it in my groin area and it burned the first 3 applications, then subsided (and the sweating has too). Good luck!
A few tips:
Do NOT shave that area for at least 48 hours prior to each application!
Wash the area with mild soap - not antibacterial, try baby shampoo. Let it air dry or pat with a paper towel.
If you think nothing is coming out of the bottle, use a cotton ball to apply - but don’t be too generous with it. My personal observation is that more drysol = more itching.
How often did you doc recommend using in first month? I think I used drysol every night for 7-10 days, then every other night for a month, then 2x per week after that for a year. Now I only use it *maybe* once every other month, if that.
